Tribute to Helen Branning: Women’s President for 35 Years

MVP Presbyterial Memorial Service
August 2010

Date of Birth: April 22, 1922
Date of Death: December 8, 2009

Offices/Responsibilities in her Church: If it needed to be done, Helen did it!  From welcoming new comers, to caring for the sick, to getting everything organized for a church fellowship meal, to ordering supplies – and everything in between!  No one ever had to tell Helen something needed to be done – she just knew what needed to be done and did it on her own initiative!  Her shoes are truly hard to fill!

Offices/Responsibilities in her Women’s Ministry Group: Helen served as the WOC President for approx. 35 years and in various other capacities prior to that.  She remained actively involved until shortly before her death!

Other Special Information that you would like to share about this woman:  Helen Branning, 87, of French Camp ARP, went to be with her Lord on December 8, 2009. She was an active member of the French Camp Presbyterian Church for over 57 years and was involved in every aspect of the church and community.  She served as President of the Women’s Work for the last 35 years until the time of her death.  She also served on the French Camp Town Board for 32 years.

She was married for 64 years to ruling elder Talmadge Branning, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She retired from nursing but devoted her entire life to caring for others that far exceeded the boundaries of her own family and even her church family. Her selfless dedication to her family, church, town and community is surpassed by none and she will always be with us in our hearts and our memories. She truly empitimized Proverbs 31 in every aspect of her life.
