Galatians 3:1-9

By Faith, or by Works of the Law?

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?

Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Sunday Evening Fellowship Tonight, 5:30pm with Speaker Larry Martin: We will have a simple meal in the LSB provided by the church, followed by the program and round table discussions.  Our first speaker with this new format will be Larry Martin, whose powerful testimony of healing and forgiveness is a tribute to the great mercy and grace of God.

90th Birthday Celebration for Mary Faith Phillips Today: The party is come-and-go from 1-3:00pm in the Living Stones Building. Mary Faith is a prayer warrior for former students all over the world. We tease often that one is never more than one contact away from someone who knows her. We are blessed to have her in French Camp to celebrate her 90th birthday!

A huge thank you to Kevin O’Brien who has worked diligently to bring our worship services online and provide audio-visual technical assistance in a variety of settings!  Kevin is stepping aside from this responsibility the end of March, so pray with us for just the right person to coordinate this important ministry of our church and work with those currently serving on the technology team. Speak with Alex Coblentz if you can help.

Progress in the Educational Wing: The floors have been repaired and the carpet laid in all the classrooms! We are especially grateful to volunteer Jim Leasure, Terry Roberts, Roy Purvis and Pastor Alex for completing this job.

Volunteer Help Needed in Education Building: Now that work on the floors has been completed, a thorough cleaning and some touch up painting is needed. Any volunteers?  Work can be done anytime that fits your schedule.

Church Website: The church has a new website! Check it out at www.fcarp.org. Special thanks to Suzy Coblentz Matthews for designing and helping to maintain it.

Historical Highlight Luncheon This Thursday, March 3, 12:00pm: Alex Coblentz will be featuring highlights from the past 100 historical luncheons, representing a wide variety of people and events in French Camp’s past. Lunch is only $2. RSVP to Mary Nell if you plan to come.

Save the Date - Mission Conference April 3-4: This year’s Mission Conference speaker will be Dr. George Murray, former President, and Chancellor of Columbia International University. Watch for details…

Flags in the Sanctuary: As we anticipate our upcoming Mission Conference, we’ll be putting up flags in the sanctuary. Current flags are Haiti and Dominican Republic for HMM, UK for Kate Winter’s mission trip and Ukraine as a reminder to pray for the current crisis there.

Choctaw County Library Lunch Meeting in FC March 7, 12-1:00pm: Have opinions about the Choctaw Library? FC residents are invited to lunch at the Welcome Center to share their favorite parts of the library, hopes for the future and ways the library can grow to better meet the needs of our community. RSVP by March 2 to 662-285-6348 if you would like to attend.
