What Makes French Camp, MS “Special”

with Tony Thomas

a well-known and beloved citizen of French Camp. He is uniquely qualified to talk about residents of the French Camp community and life as it was in the 1950's. You don't want to miss this chance to laugh and learn about Tony's favorite home town and ours - French Camp, MS.

Tony was born in Winona, MS to Deck and Ruth Thomas, along with his siblings Curtis and René (Warren). He says he was "raised and lived in the French Camp community forever!" After graduating from French Camp Academy in 1963, Tony served as an officer in the Mississippi Army National Guard and graduated from Delta State College/University in 1969. He has been a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church "forever" where he serves as a Deacon and sings in the choir. He is married to Patsy Easley Thomas and has 8 children, 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He founded Thomas Auction Company in 1976, a successful family business that is still in operation outside of Kosciusko. He has also served for many years as the auctioneer for French Camp's annual Harvest Festival. Tony's passions are church, family, friends, auctions, laughing, flying, hunting, sports and "people."

Historical Highlight Luncheons are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at French Camp Presbyterian Church, featuring a speaker who shares some aspect of French Camp's history and a delicious, home-cooked meal for a $3 donation. The public is invited.
