REV. STUART BROCK ANGLE

1983-1984, 1987-1988

Stuart was born on April 20, 1934, in Miami, FL, to Mr. and Mrs. Gafford Brock Angle. He attended public schools in Ft. Lauderdale, then received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia Bible College in Columbia, SC. While in college he met Ann Padberg, and they were married in 1953. He graduated in 1955 and came to French Camp Academy as a Bible Teacher and Chaplain.

In 1960 Stuart left French Camp to pursue a post-graduate degree in History and Political Science at Birmingham Southern College in Alabama. He then moved to Pontotoc, MS, for two years where he taught Bible in public schools. During this time, he earned his Masters from Ole Miss in 1963.

From 1963 thru 1967 Stuart taught Bible and History at Wood Jr. College in Mathiston, MS. In 1967 Sam Patterson recruited Stuart Angle to become President of French Camp Academy. He left FCA again in 1977 to become President of Whitworth College in Brookhaven, MS, and then on to become Headmaster at Columbia Academy and Magnolia Academy in Columbia, MS. Finally, in 1983, Stuart Angle returned to his real love, French Camp Academy, where he served as Dean of Students until his death on August 7, 1988, at age 54.

As stated supply of French Camp Presbyterian Church, Stuart officially came after Rich Cannon, but these two men were close friends and shared the ministry here throughout most of the 1970’s and 80’s.
